On October 4, 1982, Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal departed Tony Roma's restaurant. When he started the ignition of his 1981 Cadillac Eldorado, the car exploded. Due to a defect in the vehicle, the car manufacturer had installed a metal plate underneath the driver's seat. Authorities credited the metal plate for saving Rosenthal's life. No one was ever charged for the crime.

Frank Rosenthal was added to the Nevada Gaming Control's Black Book in 1988.

Event Location: 620 East Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada.
