Mormon Well Spring

This site was used by the Paiutes for centuries. During the late 1800s, the rights to the spring's water were claimed by John Thomas. The rights were later sold to Joe Perkins of the Pickett Ranch. By 1966, the area became a Wildlife Range. The water rights were restored to the native wildlife.


Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.


Located in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge.
