This is the location of the first built FBI field office.
In the 1940s and 1950s, the Salt Lake City Division operated a resident agency in Las Vegas. In 1961 a new Las Vegas division is created.

In 1946 the FBI sends agents from the Salt Lake City Division to investigate Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel during the construction of The Flamingo Hotel & Casino.
