Indian Springs Casino was built in the mid 1980s. It closed in 2014 and was subsequently demolished when the Air Force acquired the land. Previously, this was the location where Coachie Siegmuller killed "Wild Bill" Williams in 1906.

The area dates back to the early 1900s.
On January 18, 1982, during training four Northrop T-38 Talon jets crashed killing Major Norm Lowry, III, Captain Joseph Peterson, Captain Mark E. Melancon, and Captain Willie Mays.
