Howard Hughes' Green House
The house is located on the KLAS-TV property.
Built in 1951. In the early 1950s, Howard Hughes (billionaire, aviator, and movie producer) lived in this house whenever he was in town. He left the home in 1954. Upon his return to Las Vegas in 1966, Hughes would acquire the Desert Inn, Sands, Castaways, New Frontier, Silver Slipper, and Landmark. In 1969, Howard Hughes bought a local television station (KLAS-TV, Channel 8).
